Egan At Home provides compassionate, non-medical in-home care services designed to support independence, comfort, and quality of life. We serve seniors, individuals with chronic illnesses or disabilities, those recovering from an accident, and clients needing short-term support after surgery.
Our trained CNAs, PCAs, and companions assist with all Activities of Daily Living, offering personalized support that may include memory care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, hospice support, and family respite care. With a focus on dignity, safety, and consistency, our team partners with families to ensure each client receives the attentive, respectful care they deserve—right at home.
Egan At Home begins every relationship with a comprehensive in-home assessment to understand each client’s needs, preferences, and goals. From there, we develop a personalized plan of care and thoughtfully match each client with compatible, skilled caregivers suited to their specific situation.
To ensure consistent, high-quality care, every client is supported by a dedicated Care Manager who provides ongoing oversight, communication, and coordination. This hands-on approach allows us to monitor care closely, address concerns promptly, and make adjustments to care as needs change, giving families confidence and peace of mind.
Egan At Home follows a thorough and thoughtful hiring process to ensure families receive safe, reliable, and compassionate care. All caregiver applicants complete a rigorous screening that includes comprehensive criminal background checks, drug screening, verification of work history, and ongoing monthly exclusion checks.
Each candidate also participates in a personal interview to assess qualifications, experience, skill set, and overall suitability, along with a caregiver competency evaluation. Once hired, our caregivers continue to grow through ongoing education and training, allowing them to stay current with best practices and provide the highest level of care to every client we serve.

Care at home allows individuals to remain in a familiar, comfortable environment where they feel most at ease. Personalized in-home care often leads to improved morale, a higher quality of life, and greater overall happiness and well-being. For those recovering from illness, injury, or surgery, being at home can also support quicker, more confident recovery.

We currently require a consecutive 4 hour minimum shift as well as a 12 hour minimum per week. (Minimum hour requirements are subject to change based on availability).
Egan At Home offers several flexible payment options to make in-home care accessible and stress-free. Our team is happy to review each option with you and help determine the best fit for your situation.
Private Pay Private pay is an out-of-pocket option with a simple, flat hourly rate based on our service area. Rates do not change based on the type of care provided allowing your plan of care to adjust as needs change—without added billing frustration. Our primary service area includes the Orleans Parish, Jefferson Parish, St. Bernard Parish and Plaquemines Parish with some outlying areas available for a small rate increase. No deposit is required. Private pay services are set up with bi-weekly automatic payments using a credit card or bank account.
Long-Term Care Insurance Long-term care insurance policies can help cover the cost of in-home care for individuals with chronic medical conditions, disabilities, or cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. These policies typically reimburse either the policyholder or the care provider a pre-selected daily amount based on services used. Long-term care insurance can be a valuable way to plan, reduce out-of-pocket expenses, and provide peace of mind during aging or recovery.
Veterans Aid and Attendance The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offers the Aid and Attendance benefit for eligible veterans and surviving spouses who require regular assistance with Activities of Daily Living. This pension benefit can help offset the cost of in-home care services. Egan At Home partners with trusted community resources to assist veterans and surviving spouses with the application process, helping simplify what can feel overwhelming—and in many cases, allowing care to begin right away.
Medicaid – Long-Term Personal Care Services (LTPCS) The LTPCS program provides assistance with Activities of Daily Living for individuals who meet program guidelines. Administered through the Office of Aging and Adult Services, this program supports elderly individuals and those with disabilities in remaining safely at home and engaged in their communities.
Medicaid – Community Choice Waiver (CCW) The Community Choice Waiver program serves seniors and individuals with adult-onset disabilities as an alternative to nursing facility care. Each participant receives a budget based on acuity to create a personalized service plan. Covered services may include support coordination, nursing and therapy services, home modifications, assistive technology, personal care, home-delivered meals, monitored in-home care, and family caregiver respite.
Workers’ Compensation Egan At Home partners with Workers’ Compensation programs to provide in-home care for individuals recovering from work-related injuries or illnesses. We coordinate closely with physicians and case managers to ensure care is seamless, compliant, and focused on a safe, supported recovery at home.
